The work was primarily stitched using free motion machine embroidery using gold thread and metallic sequins for the headdress. The Buddha's silent tears of blood were stitched in red and enhanced with inktense pencils,
while the extinction emblem was overprinted with diluted acrylic paint and then hand embroidered. The beauty and antiquity of this fallen statue made me feel an overwhelming sense of sadness for all that we stand to lose, if we do not act to preserve our Earth and with it, our cultural history.
