Relief Sculpture Rome Untitled
Statement:
I chose this panel because of its classical subject and I liked the way the print faded away into the background in some areas, emphasising the aged appearance. The subject matter and colour of the background fabric lent themselves to the use of muted shades of metal threads, except for a few highlighted areas.
Techniques:
Couching, trapunto quilting, beading, chipping, trellis work and surface stitchery.
Materials:
Linen Screen Print Panel. The threads used include Imitation Jap thread, fine metal thread, 371 Burnished gold, Butterfly au Papillon, Au Ver a Soie Metallic, Madeira Metallic, Milliary wire, Bright check purl, Pearl purl, Passing thread, sequins and beads.
